Dr. D. Z. Olupayimo
Head of Department
Dolapo Z. Olupayimo, a Fellow of the American Council of Learned Societies, is an Associate Professor of History and the pioneer Head of Department at the Department of History and Diplomatic Studies, Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo, Nigeria. He holds a PhD. in Legal History of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. Dolapo has done ground-breaking works on Culture History, Identity Studies and Boundary Studies.
His most recent works include: The Judiciary and Chieftaincy Institution in Osun Division, 1946-1991; Socio-Political & Culture History of Nigeria: Festschrift in Honour of Professor Akin Alao, Issues in Socio-Political History of Nigeria: Festschrift in Honour of Adegboyega Isaac Ajayi both co-edited with Prof. Victor Edo and Discourse on Historical Evolutions in Nigeria: Festschrift in Honour of Professor Olukoya Joseph Ogen.
He belongs to many professional associations. Dolapo had been the Head of this Department in 2014, 2018, 2019 and he became the pioneer HOD of AFUED, in 2023 till date. He was a Postdoctoral Scholar in Residence at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 2017 and also at the International Institute of Advanced Studies (IIAS), University of Ghana at Legon in 2019.
He is a member of the editorial board of a number of national and international Journals. He was the Ag. Director, Directorate of International Linkages, Sponsored Research and Development for his University for four consecutive years. He is at the moment the Ag. Head of Department of History and Diplomatic Studies, Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo, Nigeria.

Prof. J. O. Akinbi
Lecturer
Joseph Olukayode AKINBI is currently a Professor of Diplomatic History and History of International Relations at the Department of History & Diplomatic Studies, Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo.
He had his B.A. Honours in History, from then Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti(OSUA), now Ekiti State University in 1988; where he graduated as the Best Overall Student in the Department & received Chief B.A. Ajayi's Prize.
His M.A. Thesis was on "The International Dimension of the Nigerian Civil War, 1967 to 1970" at University of Ibadan, where he graduated in 1991.
He holds a Ph.D in History & International Studies, from University of Benin in 2006. His Ph.D Thesis was titled: "Anglo-Nigerian Economic Relations, 1960 to 1990".
He was a Visiting Lecturer 1 at Dept. of History & Diplomatic Studies, Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, (2005/2006 Session).
He has also been a Visiting Senior Lecturer to: Dept. of History & International Studies, Adekunle Ajasin University (AAU), Akungba, Akoko, 2014/2015; Dept. of International Relations & Diplomacy, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, (ABUAD), 2016/2017 and Dept. of History & International Relations, Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, 2023/2024 Session.
He is well-published in both onshore and offshore Journals & Books. He has attended about 30 Conferences & presented Papers at both Local & International Conferences including at Humboldt University, Berlin Germany and University of Texas at Austin, United States of America. He is a member of some Professional Bodies including the Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN), Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) & Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
He has served as Head of Department of History on about 5 different terms under the erstwhile Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo (affiliated to Obafeni Awolowo University, Ile-Ife) and as Director, Preliminary Programmes,2010-2014.
He is the current Editor in Chief of Ondo Historical Studies, a Journal of the Department of History & Diplomatic Studies, Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED),Ondo.
Also, he is the Chairman, Editorial Board/Managing Editor, of Global Journal of History of International Relations & Diplomacy (GJOHIRD).An International Journal that is domiciled in the Department of History & Diplomatic Studies, Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo, Nigeria.
Furthermore, he is the Deputy Chief Editor of Journal of Public Management & International Relations, an Open Access Online Journal domiciled in the Department of Public Management, Law and Economics, Durban University of Technology, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
He is a Resource Person/Member, of the National Universities Commission(NUC), Accreditation Programmes of Nigerian Universities.
He is a Part-time Senior Pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God(RCCG),Region 39,Ondo Province 14.

Dr. Mrs. R. O. Adu-Peters
Lecturer
Adu-Peters Raliat Olusola is a female Senior Lecturer at the Department of History and Diplomatic Studies, Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo, Nigeria. She has spent the early years of her academic engagement in pursuing her interest in History and International Studies. A seasoned lecturer of over 18 years teaching and mentoring experiences. An adept scholar of unassuming personality. She bagged a PhD in Economic/Agriculture History, with passion for indigenous food for sustainable development. She has three master degrees, first degree and Nigeria Certificate in Education in the field of History, Yoruba Language and International Relations. She also has a diploma in Human Resources Management, Honolulu, USA. She has won many awards and scholarships to her credit, she has published food related topics in local and international journals. Head of Department of History, Adeyemi Federal University of Education for four consecutive academic sessions, a seasoned classroom teacher of History whose experience is not limited to issues on Africa and West African Communities (ECOWAS) with thousands of graduates since she joined the services of Adeyemi Federal University of Education in 2007. She has attended many conferences and workshops, including University of London in 2015 where she presented a paper titled: A History of the Consumption of White corn and Other Food Items Among the Ekiti People of Southwestern Nigeria. Her academic landmark went down in the annals of history of Obafemi Awolowo University where she emerged as the first female to bag a doctoral degree from the Department of History since inception.
Dr. Omotayo K. Charles
Lecturer
Dr. Omotayo K. Charles started his career as a Field Research Fellow for the European Research Council sponsored international collaborative project between Osun State University, Nigeria and University of Birmingham, UK. In 2017/2018, he was appointed as part of the Field Research Team for the French Institute for Research in Africa (IFRA), funded research on “Sacred Urbanism: Entrepreneurial Religion, Infrastructure and the New Urbanism in Nigeria.” He joined the services of McPherson University as a Lecturer of the Department of History and International Studies in 2018 and left for Adeyemi Federal University of Education in 2019. In 2023, he was appointed as a Fellow and Field Researcher of the University of Leeds Arts and Humanities Research Institute (LAHRI) and the Leeds University Centre of African Studies (LUCAS) International Research Project with partnership with Osun State University (UNIOSUN) on “The Globalisation of African Religion and the Post-colonial Resurgence of Yoruba Traditional Religious Practices.” In 2025, he published two books; A History of Christ the King Catholic Church, Ibadan, 1934 – 2024 and A History of Chief Apara Orisasunmi, the Baloro of Ibokun 1889 – 1929. His research works have been published by reputable international outlets such as the Yoruba Studies Review, Journal of African Cultural Studies, and Journal of Cultural Economy among others. He is a Fellow of the French Institute for Research in Africa (IFRA), a 2025 Laureate of the Lagos Studies Association (LSA) and a Fellow of the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding. He is at the moment, the Deputy Director of the Directorate of Gender and Sustainable Development at Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo, Nigeria.

Dr. O. P. ADEBILE
Lecturer
Oluwaseyi Paul ADEBILE researches international history and strategic diplomacy, offering nuanced insights into the complex dynamics of global interactions that intersect diplomatic relations, political economy, conflicts and wars, as well as issues of defense and security, alongside economic and sociocultural exchanges. His flair for interdisciplinarity in research extends his expertise to policy and development studies.

Dr. Abiodun Ajayi
Lecturer
Abiodun Ajayi holds B.A. and M.A. from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and a Ph.D from the University of Ibadan. A Senior Lecturer in the Department of History, Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo He was also a researcher at the Centre of African Studies, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. He is the author of, The Development of Wheeled transportation in Osun Division of Southwestern Nigeria, Pawnship Labour and Mediation in Colonial Osun Division Southwestern Nigeria, Ejigbomekun Market in Ile-Ife- Investgating the Nexus between the Mythical and Modern Era of the Yoruba History and co-author of Economic History of Nigeria: The Travail of the Nation’s Economy from 1960-1999. He was the Deputy Director of Postgraduate Studies and Research of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo.
Mr. Emmanuel Gbenga Olorunmeke
Lecturer
Emmanuel Gbenga Olorunmeke is a cultural historian from Oka Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria. He is currently affiliated with the Department of History, Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo, where he contributes to the advancement of historical scholarship and pedagogy. His research interests encompass African cultural history, with a particular focus on the intersections of tradition, identity, and social transformation. Olorunmeke is also an accomplished music enthusiast, proficient in singing, composition, and music instruction, as well as in the performance of various musical instruments. His creative and academic engagements reflect a commitment to holistic education and the preservation of cultural heritage. Outside his professional pursuits, he enjoys writing, research, and football. Guided by a strong sense of purpose, Olorunmeke aspires to make the world a better place in his own little way through knowledge, creativity, and service.
